I made shortbread dough for the onion pie, and both green and onions came in handy. The special taste of the pie baked according to this recipe is given by the cheese, which, together with the eggs, we will pour the onion filling into.

The result was a real treat! Onion pie prepared in a slow cooker can be served with tea, or can be eaten as a main course, because it is not only tasty, but also very filling and high in calories.

How to cook onion pie in a slow cooker:

Mix softened butter with sour cream, soda and salt, add flour and knead soft dough.

We distribute the dough along the bottom, forming sides. Let's put the bowl in the refrigerator while we start filling.

Sauté in vegetable oil onion until transparent. Let it cool a little.

In a deep bowl, mix grated hard cheese, chopped green onions, salt, and eggs.

We take the bowl out of the refrigerator, put the onion filling on the dough and level it out.

Bake the onion pie in a slow cooker at 180 degrees for 60 minutes.

Ready! We take it out using a container.

Despite the fact that my husband and son don’t like raw onions, they didn’t even notice them in the pie. The pie was a hit and was eaten in one evening. There weren't even any crumbs left. :)
