Let's start cooking cod in the oven
  1. Preheat the oven to 190−200 degrees.
  2. Wash the cod fillet thoroughly under cold running water. Cut into portioned pieces, salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Grease the baking dish vegetable oil and place pieces of cod on it.
  4. Pour lemon juice over the fish and leave to marinate for 15-20 minutes. Just during this time the oven will warm up to the desired temperature.
  5. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into rings if the fruits are small or into half rings if the tomatoes are large.
  6. Peel the onion and cut into thin half rings.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix sour cream and mayonnaise.
  8. Pour cream into the baking dish where we marinate the fish.
  9. Place a layer of tomatoes on top; add a little salt and pepper if desired.
  10. The next layer is the onion.
  11. Pour the mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise on top and distribute evenly over the entire surface.

It turned out to be too much cod for my shape, so I repeated these manipulations twice - on top of the onions (I did not grease the first layer of onions with sour cream and mayonnaise mixture) - pieces of cod, cream, tomatoes and onions. And at the very end, I poured it with sour cream and mayonnaise sauce, distributing it evenly so that the onions did not burn.
  13. Place in the oven and bake until the fish is done.
  14. When the fish is ready, sprinkle grated cheese on top and put it in the oven again so that the cheese melts.
